Official Announcement

At Storipod, our core mission has always been simple: to empower creators and ensure great African stories reach every corner of the world.
With over 200,000 users and more than 12 million story reads on our platform, we’ve seen firsthand how deeply local storytelling resonates. But there’s a persistent barrier that content creators and rights holders face across Africa—language.
Africa is a rich tapestry of thousands of languages and dialects, yet most books, audio, and digital stories are produced for a single language market. Localizing content for every new audience typically means completely rebuilding the production workflow from scratch.
We are excited to officially announce our partnership with PlotWeaver, an African voice AI technology company, to solve this infrastructure problem once and for all.
Bridging Content Distribution with Voice & Language Infrastructure
Through this strategic partnership, we are integrating PlotWeaver’s state-of-the-art STORM OS—a voice and language infrastructure built specifically for African contexts—directly into the Storipod ecosystem.
Instead of re-recording or manually re-translating stories for every new audience, creators and publishers will soon be able to leverage automated, high-quality voice and language capabilities to create authorized multilingual versions of their work.
An English-language story on Storipod will no longer be limited to English readers. Creators can seamlessly extend their work into:
- Nigerian Pidgin
- Yorùbá
- Igbo
- Hausa
And this is just the beginning.
Built for the Way We Actually Speak
One of the biggest challenges with traditional AI language engines is their inability to capture the nuance of African expression—especially code-switching. In everyday conversation, Africans naturally move between English, Pidgin, and indigenous languages within the exact same sentence.
PlotWeaver’s STORM OS is engineered specifically around this multilingual reality, combining speech recognition, translation, speech generation, and voice preservation. This ensures that when a story on Storipod is localized, it retains its cultural authenticity, rhythm, and tone.
"Stories deserve a bigger world. Language should not determine how far a great African story can travel. This partnership gives us another way to help rights holders reach audiences beyond the language in which their work was originally created." — James Nelson, Founder of Storipod
"Africa does not have a shortage of great stories. We have an infrastructure problem that prevents many of those stories from travelling. Storipod has built the distribution layer. We are building the language layer."— Wole Fagbohun, Founder & CEO of PlotWeaver
Nigeria First, Africa Next
We are kicking off Phase 1 in Nigeria, bringing content to millions of local language speakers across the country.
Looking ahead, PlotWeaver is training STORM OS V3 across 68 African languages in 44 countries—covering languages spoken by over 1.1 billion people. As these capabilities rollout, Storipod creators will be uniquely positioned to scale their stories, audio content, and intellectual property across the entire African continent and its diaspora.
By pairing our distribution power with PlotWeaver's voice infrastructure, we are unlocking greater reach, longer commercial life for content, and richer experiences for our readers.
Stay tuned to the Storipod platform as we roll out new multilingual features soon!
